Elf day represents the real start to the festive season and also a great (and much needed excuse) for behaving like a child. I will be donning my Christmas waist-coat (just because you’re having fun doesn’t mean you can’t look smart) enjoying films, and games with dear friends with much mirth and silliness. Elf must be watched – it is the name of the day after all, then a couple of others films probably finishing with Krampus – because it’s my new favourite.

I guess the family can join in too, so it’ll be round 2 once school has finished. Sweets, treats, games and laughter are rife in the house as we enjoy the beginning to the season.
